ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
This album is a collection of songs that began gathering together eight years ago when Zoe Thiessen first started to write her own tunes. Zoe grew up in Vancouver, and her first musical love was classical violin. This love eventually evolved into bluegrass and country fiddle and she picked up guitar in her teens. With these instruments in hand, she frequented the bluegrass club and local jams. Schooling brought her to Toronto in her twenties, and she played violin for two years with the jazz/pop group The Jessica Stuart Few. During this time she began writing her own songs, influenced by her music library of Gillian Welch, Lucinda Williams, Bob Dylan, Neko Case, Feist and others. She was soon playing in local venues. The songs kept gathering, and eventually Zoe had the good fortune to lay down these tracks in Vancouver with award winning producer Steve Dawson in May 2011. She now lives in Vancouver and looks forward to many music infused days ahead.
