ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Just Livin’ The Dream is a patriotic tribute to those who serve(d) and their loved ones. I wrote the music and lyrics after marrying my hubby, a retired Spec Opps sergeant major with 23 years of service to our wonderful country. I created this project to say a big THANKS! to all whom I will never meet, but who live the life of military service.
So, here’s a little about some of the songs...Charlie Alpha Tango is a fun-filled song that is popular with the kids who like trying their skills with the NATO alphabet. And actually, it seems also to have become a bar song with revellers shouting out the NATO words as they come up. I wrote The Halls Of Madigan after seeing a little girl holding her amputee Dad’s hand as they walked over the sky bridge in Madigan. She just glowed with admiration and love for him, so proud that he was her father, no matter his injuries.
The song When I Become A Man was given to me in a dream...I saw a little boy and his mother waiting in the crowd during the middle ages, watching the warriors return home in the shadow of the castle. The boy wonders if his beloved mother will “ remember me this way” when he himself grows up to become a warrior. The song O’Dark 30 came to me during lunch with my hubby,Thom. I began humming the tune and then asked him what would a song about Iraq sound like? As he related some stories, I scribbled on the napkin and saw the song to completion by the time we finished eating. Yes, I gave Thom credit for writing!
I guess my favored song is really The Defender’s Prayer, Thin Blue Line. I wrote it to Law Enforcement after I learned how often they do battle with terrorist issues. The lyrics and music came bursting forth as one piece, a few seconds after I felt the images born.
I believe strongly and securely that all creations are co-creations with God. I am a modern mystic, a Gnostic Christistian who identifies with the truths, beauty and mystery of numerous world religions. My prayers with and for this cd are that it find its home within the heart of those who resonate with its energies.
