Album Notes
This recording is dedicated to the spirit of music. This spirit uplifts, comforts and helps soften the rough edges of our daily lives. Despite reports to the contrary, the spirit of music is alive and well in the city of Dallas.

Zounds Sounds School of Music and Studios was founded in this spirit. In 2005 musicians, Marc Solomon and Mary Armstrong not only joined each other in matrimony, they became business partners in the founding of Zounds Sounds. Marc, a talented singer/songwriter and guitar player (Perfect, Clumsy, Solly and Charming Gardeners) brought a thriving, private teaching business to the table. Mary, a musician in her own right, brought a willingness to learn on the job. And learn she did.

What makes an otherwise sane couple go off the grid into the wilderness of unchartered entrepreneurship? It is the spirit of music. It is that same crazy love that Marc, Mary and every single one of the teachers and friends of Zounds Sounds lives to share. At Zounds they are proud of the fact that here, they live to work and not the other way around. It is a feat, rare and wonderful and a space of peace and happiness that accomplishes this way of living in the world.

A perfect situation, no? Well… not exactly. The only thing missing are the students who find themselves priced out of
lessons at Zounds. The spirit of music doesn’t discriminate. That is unless you go to a public school where art and music programs have been gutted. Now, the Zounds Sounds family is offering something to get these very students instruments and into private lessons. They are launching a non-profit organization called Way Into Music. It is an education fund set up to bring each deserving student a quality music education, regardless of their ability to pay. Marc and Mary have sponsored
kids through their own program and have seen amazing results. They want to share this spirit of giving as well as music in this next chapter of their story.

All profits from the sale of this record will go to Way Into Music. The teachers that appear on this recording have generously donated their time and creative energy & freely given their love to help Way Into Music. This project is more than Zounds Sounds showing off their talented staff. It is more than mere entertainment. This project perfectly encapsulates everything Zounds Sounds is about. Music, fun, love and generosity. Thank you for you purchase and thank you for helping light the Way Into Music.
