Album Notes
Božena Němcová, as an important Czech woman author who wrote using pristine, poetic language in all her work, who was an attentive listener as a collector of folktales, needs to be reminded of not only because in January 2012, it will be the 150th anniversary of her passing away. Her writing is essential for reflecting on our present way of unimaginative, poor usage of language, sloppy speaking, and listening to one another with little care and love, and perhaps even for forgetting the art of writing personal letters, she was such a master of, which requires time, concentration, things to say that matter, whether the recipient is young or old. Telling stories is similar; for that, one needs an audience with ears. O Slunečníku, Měsíčníku a Větrníku is first in the series of Němcová's folktales narrated by Zuzannah L' ark coming soon, to celebrate the beauty of the Czech language.
This recording includes the original piano music by Tomas Svoboda from his Children's Treasure Box, played by the composer himself. We believe it is a lucky and harmonious kinship.
