Album Notes

After stumbling upon a gold mine of records during a trip to Cuba in January, 2010, producer Dub Sonata managed to return to New York with a crate full of dusty Cuban gems. Nights in Cuba is an instrumental album based on samples taken from those records. Layered with upright bass, flute, trumpet, alto sax, grand piano, acoustic guitar, heavy percussion and scratches by Scram Jones; the 19-track album transports the listener to the streets of Havana. Included with the CD is a 28 pg. booklet of photos taken in Cuba.

Dub Sonata has produced songs for Rhymefest, Sadat X, Kool G Rap and upcoming LPs with Serius Jones and Double A.B. He also produces and plays keys in a band called “Like Diamonds” who performed at this year’s Camp Bisco 9. In 2007 he released “On The Arm,” a compilation album featuring Nature, Bizzy Bone, Dom Pachino, C-Rayz Walz, Vast Aire and others.
