Seanan's fourth album marks a return to her richly layered, lyrically complex style of modern folk/filk, with songs about love, loss, and the power of fairy tales.

My Story Is Not Done |

Wow.
This is beautiful, high-quality music. I love the imagery and storytelling in every song. It's wonderful.
Heard Seanan at Renovation and bought this CD - I'll have it memorized soon...
Every song has at least one brilliant diamond-sharp line in it; some of them (Wicked Girls, for instance) glide effortlessly from one brilliant line to another. I love poetry, with lines freighted with layers of meaning, and hate doggerel; this is poetry. I've ordered 4 copies, to give to women I know who *need* these songs... The lost-love songs are evocative and cathartic without moaning or self-pity, which is quite a balancing act.
Then there's the technical virtuosity. The diction is all clear, and everyone's voices land pure and true on their notes. There's no sliding or scooping, and to top it all, they make it all sound effortless. My only regret at this point is that 2 of her albums are apparently out of print and unobtainable, at least through cdbaby...
I love this CD so much I wore it out!
I'm entirely serious with the subject, there. I've had to make a backup CD copy (yes, I did ask Seanan if I could before I did!) because the original disc is so worn out from overplaying - already - that it's skipping all over the place.
Brilliant album. The lyrics are catchy, poetic, smart and often very escapist, and the music itself is glorious. I love Seanan's vocal style - full of attitude - and Vixy's backing vocals are a perfect complement to it. You'll want to listen to this one over and over. I'm even planning to cover a song from it at my next open mic event...!
Wicked Girls
really like this album great harmony with music and voices!!!!
Inspiring
This is probably the best money I've spent on music in the last decade. I completely agree with the previous review also. Great harmonies. Wonderful music. And I love minor chords. This album sends chills down my spine.
Keep up the great work.
